St. Mary’s Catholic College was established on the 2nd Oct. 2002, under the late Rev. Fr. Matthew Akwue with seven students and four teachers. In 2003 the School Management employed services of additional five teachers and two corpers due to the increase in the students population. Mrs Benedicta Udeh, was made pioneer principal of the school. When Late Rev. Fr. Akwue was transferred from St. Mary’s Parish, Rev. Fr. Gopep continued until 2006 when the proprietor of all Catholic Diocesan schools in Minna Most Rev. Dr. Martin Uzoukwu appointed Rev. Fr. Bahago Samaila to be the Principal of the College. As a result of an increase in the year 2007, the school moved to another site and since then there has been continued progress. The school has passed out three sets of SSS3 students with excellent SSCE and NECO examination results. The impact of the result is seen in the number of students already admitted in various Nigerian Universities. From seven students in 2002, the school now has over five hundred (500) students between JSS 1 and SSS3. Determination to success is the motto of the College and we try to get every child determined to succeed in his or her studies. In 2007 the College started the boarding house and since then, the College run both day and boarding program. From a mobile Multi-purpose Science Laboratory in 2005, the school has now grown to a full and well equipped Science Laboratory of Physics, Chemistry, Biology as well as Food and Nutrition/Home Economics Lab. Also there stands a good standard Library with two able librarians helping students and teachers out. The internet facilities installed at the old site will hopefully be moved to the new site this September. Also good generating Power System and three functioned boreholes to avoid water difficulties have been put in place. The journey so far has been challenging but hopefully it will soon be smoothly and normal.

The Management appreciates the efforts and contributions of both parents and staff for this successful history so far. We are most grateful to God Almighty for this support and divine providence. Every child in this College is helped to be a star and excellent child at the end his/her stay here.

God Almighty is our strength.
